Trees and flood risk – the Woodland Trust’s position

This position statement sets out the Trust’s stance on flood risk management schemes.

It explains how trees and woodland alone are unlikely to prevent all flooding in a given area. However, they can play a vital role in reducing flood risk when integrated with other natural flood risk management schemes.

This statement explains how they can complement each other.
