Allen Banks and Staward Gorge - Stewardpeel Wood

Stewardpeel wood is part of the largest area of ancient woodland in the UK. Way marked paths make this North Pennine wood which is well worth exploring, featuring stunning views of the river Allen and the path it has gorged. Abundant in wildlife you may even be lucky enough to spot resident red squirrel or dormice alongside woodland plants and birds.
