Low Newton Junction LNR

Its previous use as a sand quarry and a railway junction has had a direct bearing on the wide variety of habitats now to be found. There is a lot of tree cover providing a home for a variety of birds. Ponds have developed along the old railway lines and marshes have developed in low-lying areas around the ponds. There is also species rich grassland in the old quarry.
